How we verify Image watermark

How to confirm the watermark looks the way you expect before downloading.

Position places the text relative to the image's corners or center

The five position options anchor the watermark text near a corner or the center of the image, with consistent padding — choose based on where the underlying image content is least likely to make the text hard to read.

Opacity and color both affect visibility independently

A lower opacity makes the watermark more subtle and less obtrusive, while text color should be chosen for contrast against the area of the image it lands on — a light color on a light background can be nearly invisible even at full opacity.

Font size scales the watermark text but not the underlying image

The image itself is never resized — only the watermark text's rendered size changes, so a very large font size on a small image can overflow past the edge if the text is long.

Before you rely on the result

  • You've checked the watermark text is legible against the image content at that position.
  • The opacity and color combination gives the visibility you want — subtle or prominent.
  • The font size fits within the image without the text running off the edge.
  • You've downloaded the result and confirmed it before using it in place of the original.

Who this is for

  • Photographers marking portfolio images with a name or website.
  • Sellers watermarking product photos before posting them online.
  • Anyone adding a "draft" or "sample" label to a preview image.
  • People labeling screenshots or graphics with attribution text.

Real-world examples

Portfolio protection

A photographer adds a subtle watermark with their name to portfolio images before sharing them publicly, discouraging unauthorized reuse.

Marking preview or sample images

Someone labels a preview image with "SAMPLE" text in a prominent position and high opacity so it can't be mistaken for a final deliverable.

Product photo branding

A seller adds their shop name as a watermark to product photos before listing them for sale online.

Limitations

  • This adds a text watermark only — there's no support for overlaying a logo or image watermark.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add a logo image instead of text?

Not with this tool — it supports a text watermark only. For a logo overlay, you'd need an image editor that supports layering images.

Will the watermark resize if I resize the image afterward?

No — the watermark is baked into the image pixels at the size and position you chose. Resizing the output afterward scales the watermark along with everything else, proportionally.

Why is my watermark hard to see?

Check that the text color contrasts with the area of the image it's placed over, and that the opacity isn't set too low for how visible you want it to be.

Does this upload my image anywhere?

No — the watermark is drawn entirely in your browser using canvas, and the image is never uploaded to a server.
