Invoice generator

🔒 Runs locallySalary & money

Fill in a simple form and download a clean PDF invoice or receipt.

The invoice generator turns a short form — your details, the client's details, a list of line items, an optional tax rate and some notes — into a tidy one-page PDF invoice or receipt. Amounts, subtotal, tax and total update as you type. Your own name, address, currency and tax rate are saved in your browser so the next invoice starts half-filled. The PDF is built in your browser with pdf-lib; Chinese text embeds a font subset automatically. Nothing is uploaded and no invoice is stored anywhere but your own downloads folder.

How we verify Invoice generator

How to make sure the invoice is correct and complete.

It generates a document, nothing more

There's no payment tracking, no reminders, no client list and no stored history. It's a fast way to produce the PDF — bookkeeping happens wherever you already do it.

Check what a valid invoice needs where you are

Different places require different things on an invoice or receipt — a tax registration number, specific wording, sequential numbering. Add whatever your local rules need in the details and notes fields.

Your defaults are remembered locally

The "From" block, currency and tax rate are kept in this browser's storage so you don't retype them. They're never sent anywhere and won't appear on another device.

Before you rely on the result

  • Your details and the client's details are complete and spelled correctly.
  • Every line item has a description, quantity and unit price.
  • The tax rate (or 0) is right, and the total matches what you expect.
  • The invoice number and dates are filled in.
  • You've opened the downloaded PDF to check the layout before sending.

Who this is for

  • Freelancers and contractors billing clients.
  • Small businesses and sole traders without dedicated invoicing software.
  • Anyone who needs to hand over a receipt for a one-off payment.
  • People sending an occasional invoice who don't want a subscription for it.

Real-world examples

Freelance project invoice

A designer lists three line items for a logo project, adds their bank details in the notes, and downloads the PDF to email the client.

Cash payment receipt

A tutor switches the document type to "Receipt", enters the lesson and amount, and hands the parent a clean PDF instead of a handwritten note.

Recurring monthly bill

A contractor reuses their saved "From" details each month, changes the invoice number and dates, and sends a consistent-looking invoice in under a minute.

Limitations

  • This is a plain document generator — it doesn't track payments, send reminders, or store invoices anywhere.
  • Your "From" details, currency and tax rate are remembered in this browser only, for the next invoice.
  • Check your local rules for what a valid invoice or receipt must contain (tax registration numbers, wording, etc.).

Frequently asked questions

Does this send the invoice to my client?

No — it only creates the PDF. You download it and send it however you like.

Are my invoices saved so I can find them later?

No. Only your default "From" details and settings are kept in this browser. Each finished invoice exists only as the PDF you download.

Can I add my logo?

Not in this version — the layout is text-only. You can add a logo afterwards in a PDF editor if you need one.

Is my business and client data uploaded?

No. The form runs in your browser and the PDF is generated locally. Nothing is sent to a server.
