Pie chart maker
Turn label/value rows into a pie chart with automatic percentages.
The pie chart maker redraws a live pie chart and legend as you edit label and value rows, calculating each slice's percentage automatically — export the result as a PNG for a document, slide, or message.
How to use
- Edit the label/value rows — the pie chart and legend redraw live as you type.
- Each slice's percentage is calculated automatically from the row values.
- Click "Export PNG" to save the chart.
Common use scenarios
- Visualizing how a total splits across a handful of categories.
- Building a pie chart for a presentation slide without spreadsheet software.
- Showing budget or time allocation across a few categories.
- Producing a quick chart image to paste into a report.

How we verify Pie chart maker
How to confirm the percentages and slices reflect your data correctly.
Invalid rows are skipped, which changes the percentage base
A row with a blank label, non-numeric value, or zero/negative value is left out of the chart entirely — since percentages are calculated only from the valid rows that remain, removing or fixing a skipped row changes every other slice's percentage too.
Percentages are calculated automatically from your values
Each slice's share is computed as that row's value divided by the sum of all valid rows' values — you don't enter percentages directly, so if the shown percentages look off, check the underlying value you entered for that row.
Zero and negative values are treated as invalid, not as empty slices
Unlike the bar chart maker, a zero or negative value here isn't shown as a zero-size slice — the row is excluded from the chart entirely, which is worth knowing if you're intentionally trying to represent a category with no share.
Before you rely on the result
- Every row you expect to see has a non-blank label and a positive numeric value.
- You understand percentages are calculated automatically from your values, not entered directly.
- You've confirmed a category isn't missing because its value was zero or negative.
- You've exported the PNG after checking the percentages look right, since there's no auto-save.
Who this is for
- Anyone visualizing how a total splits across a handful of categories.
- People building a pie chart for a presentation slide quickly.
- Anyone showing budget or time allocation across categories.
- People who need a quick chart image for a report or message.
Real-world examples
Budget allocation visual
Someone splitting a budget across a few spending categories enters the amounts as rows and exports a pie chart showing each category's share for a planning document.
Time allocation breakdown
A person tracking how their week splits across a few activities enters rough hours per activity and gets an instant visual of where the time actually goes.
Presentation slide chart
A presenter needing a simple share-of-total chart for a slide enters the numbers directly and exports a PNG sized for the presentation.
Limitations
- Rows with a blank label, non-numeric value, or zero/negative value are skipped automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Why isn't one of my categories showing as a slice?
Rows with a blank label, a non-numeric value, or a zero/negative value are skipped automatically — a category with truly zero share won't appear as a thin sliver, it's simply excluded.
Do I enter percentages directly?
No — you enter raw values for each row, and the tool calculates each slice's percentage automatically from the sum of all valid rows.
Why did all my percentages change when I edited one row?
Percentages are relative to the total of all valid rows, so adding, removing, or changing any one row's value shifts every other slice's percentage too.
Does the chart update automatically as I type?
Yes — the pie chart and legend redraw live as you edit the label/value rows, with no separate "generate" step.
