Reorder PDF pages

🔒 Runs locallyPDF tools

Rearrange a PDF's pages into a new order.

The PDF page reorder tool lists every page of an uploaded document in its current order and lets you move pages up or down until they're in the sequence you want, then saves a new PDF with the pages rearranged — every original page is kept, just reordered.

✅ Every tool is free — no sign-in needed.

How we verify Reorder PDF pages

How to confirm the new page order matches what you intend.

Every original page is kept — none are removed

This tool only changes page order; it never deletes a page, so the output always has exactly as many pages as the original document, just in a different sequence.

The list shows each page's original page number as you reorder

As you move pages up and down, each entry keeps a label showing which original page number it refers to, so you can always tell exactly what you're rearranging rather than tracking blank positions.

Reordering is based on the list's final state when you click convert

The output PDF's page order matches exactly the order shown in the list at the moment you click the reorder button — double-check the full list, not just the pages you moved, before converting.

Before you rely on the result

  • You've reviewed the full list of pages in their new order, not just the ones you moved.
  • You've confirmed no pages are missing — the tool doesn't allow deleting pages, only reordering them.
  • For a long document, you've double-checked page numbers carefully since scrolling through many entries is easy to lose track of.
  • You've downloaded and opened the result to confirm the order before relying on it.

Who this is for

  • Anyone fixing a document where pages were scanned or assembled out of order.
  • People rearranging a combined PDF's sections into a more logical sequence.
  • Anyone moving an appendix, cover page, or table of contents to a different position.
  • People reordering slides or sections in an exported PDF before sharing it.

Real-world examples

Fixing a scanning mistake

Someone scans a document and notices a few pages ended up out of sequence, then uses the tool to move them into the correct order.

Reorganizing a merged document

A person combines several PDFs and finds the resulting section order isn't ideal, so they reorder the pages into a more logical sequence.

Repositioning a cover page or appendix

Someone moves a cover page to the very front, or an appendix to the very end, after realizing it landed in the wrong spot during assembly.

Limitations

  • Every original page must remain in the output — this tool reorders pages, it doesn't remove any (use "Delete pages" for that).

Frequently asked questions

Can I delete a page while reordering?

No — this tool only changes page order and always keeps every original page. Use the "Delete pages" tool separately if you also need to remove pages.

Do the page numbers shown update as I move pages around?

The label on each entry always shows that page's original page number, so you can track exactly which page is which as you reorder the list, rather than the numbers shifting to reflect new position.

What if I want to move a page a long distance up or down the list?

Use the up/down buttons repeatedly — there's no jump-to-position control in this version of the tool.

Does this upload my PDF anywhere?

No — reordering happens entirely in your browser using pdf-lib; the file is never sent to a server.
